Why Spring Garden Activities Matter

Getting kids involved and excited about growing plants and flowers is so important.

First, it can teach them about the life cycle of plants, and what they need to survive and thrive.

Second, it gets them excited about the outdoors. Fresh air and sunshine (Vitamin D) are the ingredients many kids are missing in today’s world.

We talk often about curbing screen time on this site. The key to this is offering alternative real-world activities to keep kids busy.

Even if you’re just growing bean sprouts in the kitchen, it can inspire them to think about where their food comes from, and what “real food” means.

Getting kids involved in gardening is also proven to increase their odds of getting more fruits and veggies in their diet.
